DHL Calculation Formula of Volume Weight is: length cm X width cm X height cm /5000, if the volume 

weight of goods is greater than the actual weight，it should be calculated according to the volume weight, 

to take the bigger one of both.

Surcharge of DHL International Express

Remote Surcharge: The express delivered to remote area should add the surcharge for remote area . 

The standard is: HKD3.6/KG and the lowest charge per entry is HKD180, and for the remote surcharge, it 

should add the fuel surcharge; the remote inquiry website of DHL is: 

http://remoteareas.dhl.com/jsp/first.jsp. Our company operator will inquire whether it is remote area 

according to the zip code or city name, but the website inquiry is not accurate, and the final price should 

be prevail to DHL bill. If it is written as remote on DHL bill, it should add the remote cost, and our 

company will automatically charge for the remote cost.

Tariff of DHL International Express

It should be subject to the detailed customs clearance fee (in general, the high declared value will 

generate higher tariff. If the declared value is much lower than the actual value, it also will generate the 

penalty duty). If the consignee rejects to pay the tariff, tariff will be automatically assumed by the sender.

Calculation Method for the Surcharge of Over Length and Over Weight is as Follows：

Goods of the same entry (one DHL waybill), no matter how many pieces, if only the length of one piece or 

more than one piece exceeds 120CM or the actual weight exceeds 70KG, DHL Hong Kong will charge 

the extra fee for HKD200 /entry（if there are 3 pieces on the same entry goods, and the actual weights are 

separately 50kg, 80kg, 200kg, and the sizes are separately 10*50*130cm, 50*100*125cm, 

100*150*150cm, DHL will only charge HKD200 once）;

Reference Time

The package has been calculated since it is delivered to DHL warehouse. The normal reference delivery 

time is 2-7 working days (the time is from the express is uploaded on the website to the consignee 

received this express), except the special circumstances! The delivery time is very much to each customs 

clearance time and flight arrangement of the destination.

For the Express of Missing Item, Lacking Item and Damaged

If the weight, quantity or pieces of the express received by the consignee is unconformity, please within 

24 hours after receiving the package, the consignee should feedback to DHL in the destination about the 

lost or damages, and provide the filing No. in the local registration office and accident certificate for our 

company with 7 working days, so as for the investigation and claim of DHL. If it is approved by DHL, the 

highest compensation is free of freight, compensation for the declared value of the package, but the 

highest is not exceeded USD100. Part of damage or lost should be compensated according to the actual 

number of the percentage of the total loss, but the highest compensation is not exceeded USD 100. 
The Express lost caused by the customs selective examination 
When the express goes through the customs, the customs will open the parcel for inspection, which may 

cause the parcel lost, (all or part of) the inner items of parcel lost, or held by the customs. Our company 

will not assume any responsibilities for it.
